You didn't think that a few days after the massacre we would hold our kids again, play cards with our family, get married. You didn't think we would cling onto the life, you tried so hard to take away from us.
To the enemy who thought it could break us:
You didn’t expect us to praise the resistance you tried to make us hate. You didn’t think we would pray while wounded, prostrating to the only One we ever kneeled to.
And when you foolishly tried again, killing over 50 people—men, women, children, and fighters—you didn’t think we’d be standing the very next day.
But here we are, with bandaged eyes and amputated fingers, pressing the pictures of our martyrs to our hearts beneath a banner that reads: "Kill us, we will not abandon Palestine. God is in the battlefield."
