Statement of Condemnation issued by the Municipal Affairs Department in Hezbollah.
The Municipal Affairs Department in Hezbollah strongly condemns the assassination crime committed by the “Israeli” enemy yesterday, which targeted the member of the Houla Municipal Council, the martyr Hussein Hussein, in a new assault added to the series of consecutive crimes that, in recent days, have targeted a number of municipal employees and workers.
Carrying out this attack on Independence Day, 22 November 2025, confirms the enemy’s deliberate attempt to send a direct hostile message to the Lebanese state and its local institutions. It aims to paralyze the role of municipalities and weaken their capabilities by systematically and directly targeting their personnel, especially in South Lebanon.
The recurrence of these assassinations—four times within a short period—proves that we are facing a systematic assassination policy adopted by “Israel” against workers in civilian facilities, in blatant violation of international law and existing agreements. This requires a decisive stance from the Lebanese state and immediate measures to deter this targeting and prevent its continuation.
Despite the repetition of these assassinations, international bodies have not taken any tangible action, raising serious questions about the international community’s sincerity in protecting civilians and workers in local institutions.
The Municipal Affairs Department in Hezbollah affirms that targeting civilian employees is a red line, and attempts to intimidate municipal workers will only reinforce their determination to fulfill public duties. They will not allow the enemy to turn these assaults into a fait accompli or an accepted policy.
We extend our condolences to the family of the martyr Hussein Yassin Hussein, to the esteemed municipal council, and to all the residents of the town of Houla. We ask Allah Almighty to envelop him in His vast mercy and grant patience and comfort to his family.
