Tel Aviv is Built on the Graves of Palestinians

[2025-09-24]

Kieran: "Why should I, a Palestinian who was born and raised in Brighton, why should I be able to fly over, visit my family? and they are able? Because they're East Jerusalemite. They're Palestinian, they're Muslim, they're treated like shit, and of course they suffer violence, but they're able to drive on Israeli roads, as secondass citizens, but they're still able to drive up to Tel Aviv (Yaffa)."
Kieran: "And when I was there last year, my brother and sisters, they really wanted us to go to the beach. They really wanted us to go to the beach. So, we went and they said to me, 'What do you think of Tel Aviv?' And I said, 'I think it's a city built on an ancient burial ground. I think it's a city whose bricks and mortar are slavered together with the blood of Palestinians. I think it's built on the bones, the heaps of scores of generations of Palestinians, dead Palestinians.'"
Kieran: "And they said, 'Yeah, you're right.'"
Kieran: "And I said, 'So why are we coming here? Why are we here? Why are we in Tel Aviv? I hate this fucking place.'"
Kieran: "And they said l, 'It's ours. It's not theirs. It's ours. And we can come here just about, we might not be able to in 10 years or even 5 years, but we still can. And it's ours. And so we're going to keep coming here.'"
Kieran: "And you know, fair enough. I had to shut up when they said that to me."
Ahmed: "It's not only Tel Aviv built on the ruins of the Palestinian homes and on the graves of the Palestinian homes, but unfortunately was built with the Palestinian labor."
Kieran: "Absolutely."
Ahmed: "You know, my father who Israel killed and they killed his children and grandchildren, my father spent more than 20 years working in Tel Aviv building these houses and these towers. And it's very hard for me to say that the Palestinian people built Tel Aviv. The labor of the Palestinians built Tel Aviv."
Ahmed: "But unfortunately, this is another problem is that Israel cripples the economy of the Palestinians and make us dependent on them. So that if we don't work there in Israel, then we we would starve. We would not afford to live at all. And unfortunately, my father was one of these people. But what reward did he get is that they killed him and killed all of his children and his home was destroyed. And yeah, that was Tel Aviv."
